Location: University of Twente, the Netherlands
Date: 25 and 26 April 2024
The Tribology section of the “Bond voor Materialenkennis” invites you to a new edition of the “Tribology in the Low Countries” symposium. You will have the unique opportunity to learn about the latest research in the field of tribology, conducted by both academic and industrial research groups in the Netherlands and Belgium during the 2-day symposium, across three modules.
The first module focuses on the “green tribology”, i.e., the role of tribology in sustainable development. This module will highlight developments in tribology and eco-friendly lubrication in the field of renewable energy, including talks from the industrial experts. The second module encourages participants to socialize and connect with their ongoing research through poster sessions, lab tours, and demos. We will have the chance to be acquainted with ongoing innovations in student teams at University of Twente. We will conclude the day with a fascinating networking event and dinner. The second day and the final module is dedicated towards the ongoing academic research in the Netherlands and Belgium and includes research pitches and interactive workshops on a diverse topic in tribology.
The venue is U Parkhotel, a modern hotel on the University of Twente campus. It is 4 kilometres from Enschede central station and city centre and 2 kilometres from the Kennispark railway station located on the iconic FC Twente stadium. The city of Enschede, much like the campus of University of Twente, is a blend of greenery and modern infrastructure.
