Corrosion Awareness Day 2024

On the 24th of April, World Corrosion Awareness Day, the Bond van Materialenkennis is staging the Symposium “Addressing Corrosion Challenges in the Energy Transition” at the Energy Transition Campus in Amsterdam.

This symposium marks the start of the Energy Transition Hub for knowledge exchange on materials & corrosion.

The transition to climate-friendly energy sources is necessary for our future and must take place quickly. However, scaling up new energy technologies is a major technological challenge. De Bond voor Materialenkennis is setting up a knowledge exchange hub to make specific materials knowledge available for the various new energy technologies. The main goal is to be a link between existing (industrial) sectors and science on the one hand and new energy projects on the other. Through this hub, application-oriented knowledge about materials choices, corrosion management and safety will be exchanged between technicians, materials scientists, project leaders and policy makers.
